Man arrested in connection with police officer murder as suspect still critically ill in hospital

Police investigating the murder of Sergeant Matt Ratana are questioning a man in connection with his death.

Man arrested in connection with police officer murder: The suspect in the shooting, believed to be 23-year-old Louis De Zoysa, remains in a critical condition after turning the gun on himself. Sergeant Ratana, 54, was shot and killed at a custody suite in Croydon in the early hours of Friday morning by the suspect. Who was handcuffed at the time.

The Man arrested in connection with police officer murder in Norwich, Norfolk on Sunday is being questioned at a South London police station. On suspicion of supplying a firearm. The suspect has not yet been questioned by investigators due to his condition.

Before the tragic shooting on Friday, the suspect had been detained by officers for possession of a class B drug. With intent to supply and holding ammunition. He was handcuffed and then driven to the police station. Where he was placed in a holding area before opening fire as officers were preparing to search him.
