South Wales Police have confirmed they’ve “Carried out a positive drugs warrant” on Cardiff Road, in Aberaman near Aberdare, this morning.
The raid that saw police officers assisted with police dogs smash down doors for quick entry to make arrests came just hours after Global247news reported the current drug issues in the town that’s become known locally as ‘Skank City’.
It’s reported locally that police stormed two different addresses on Cardiff Road this morning at the same time, and 5 people are reported to have been taken away from the raid scene.
An eye witness told Global247news: ” Police vans screeched up and loads of cops piled out with police dogs, they were inside the houses within seconds, I counted 5 people being brought out in handcuffs and taken away by the police after that officers were bringing out plastic bags that looked liked they contained large amounts of drugs”
It’s believed the 5 detained persons connected with the raid are now being questioned at Merthyr Tydfil police station by drug squad officers.
The police are yet to release any further details.
