Coming after the Prime Minister contracted the virus at the start of the countrywide lockdown and then being hospitalised in April, Matt Hancock has said that he has now “fully recovered”.
Health Secretary insists that Prime Minister has ‘absolutely recovered’ from the virus: He was taken to St Thomas’ hospital in London where he received “standard oxygen treatment” whilst being treated in an intensive care unit. According to reports from the BBC he is currently contemplating a 2 week “mini lockdown” for England.
Mr Hancock also contracted the virus at around the same time, however he did not need hospital treatment and he self isolated for 7 days as his symptoms were only mild. Asked by ITV’s This Morning presenter Philip Schofield if the Prime Minister is fit he replied that he was “as fit as a fiddle” and that he has “absolutely recovered” from the virus and is as vigorous as ever.
A Downing Street spokesman had also earlier denied reports that Mr Johnson was still not fully recovered and the Prime Minister himself said that, after hiring a personal trainer and losing 1.5 stones in weight he felt “far better”.
