A drunk driver who was stopped by officers from the Derbyshire Police’s Road Policing Unit was left feeling rather silly when he tried to give them a false name.
Drunk driver arrested giving false name as police officer recognises him: As one of the officers recognised him from school 20 years ago. Derbyshire Police took to Twitter to say that the man was arrested after trying to give them false details.
He was also under the influence of alcohol, had no license or insurance and his car had illegal tinted windows and no back box on the exhaust system. They wrote in the Tweet ” That awkward moment when you try to give false details but an officer recognises you from school years ago.
No insurance, no license, illegal tints and no back box on exhaust. Also drunk. Arrested”. The incident got an amusing response from Twitter followers with one saying “the school reunion this year will be a blast” to which the force replied “as long as he doesn’t drive there”.
