Police have said that two people have lost their lives and fourteen have been injured after a mass shooting at a backyard party in New York.
Two dead and fourteen injured in mass shooting at New York party: It happened in Rochester as witnesses reported hearing gunfire in the early hours of Saturday morning. Mark Simmons, police chief, informed reporters that a man and a woman were killed and were both young, aged between 18 and 22-years-old.
Of the fourteen people injured it is not believe that their injuries are life threatening and they were treated in two different hospitals.
The scene of the tragic incident appeared to stretch for nearly a whole block and Mr Simmons is quoted as saying “this is truly a tragedy of epic proportions”.
As witnesses said that the bullets sounded like something from a war movie, a reporter at the scene could hear people crying and consoling each other which he said was very painful to listen to.
