MP Chris Bryant advises the residents of Rhondda Cynon Taff they can’t go on holiday but residents laugh it off and give him a reminder of his past
As residents of Rhondda Cynon Taff were entered back into lockdown conditions by the Welsh Government local MP Chris Bryant took to social media to advise on holidays.
The message to the lockdown residents though did not have the desired effect intended by the minister as outrage poured out in the Valleys to his comments but it soon turned to laughter when a former councillor of Merthyr Tydfil posted:
“Remember this guy’s previous history so you want to take orders from him?”
Tears rolled in the valleys as Brown reminded the MP of his chequered past when he placed himself on Facebook taking photos of himself in his Y – Fronts as well as his previous expenditure claims.
“It was a cracker, a real cracker when Brown came out with that,” said Thomas Stevens, ” This current lockdown is farcical as it is and to have Bryant pontificating just inflamed the situation but Brown soon broke that up” he laughed.
Away from the Brown posting, it appears hundreds of residents of the area will not be taking any notice of the MP’s advice, Gareth Collins from Upper Boat told Global247news how he feels its unenforceable: ” You can still get a train to Cardiff, you can still go to the pub all day until 11 pm, there is no way they can trace you going on holiday, this lockdown is actually quite farcical, the pub ruling is the most laughable one, does the virus come out to play just after midnight then?”
“I am not having some snotty-nosed MP telling me not to go on holiday,” said Zena Wellington from a town called Taff’s Well, it’s a farce I live 200 meters from the border of South Glamorgan, my boyfriend lives the other side of the roundabout in South Glam, we are booked for the Canary Islands and we are going, this is all a joke!” she stormed.
