BOTTOM CLUB ( Lindsay Constitutional Club) TRIP TO DONCASTER RACES CRITICISED
A trip to the Doncaster races, from a popular constitutional club, in Abercynon, South Wales, has been highly criticised by Welsh Government, due to the spike of COVID 19 cases in RCT.
People on the trip are reported to have stopped at several pubs on route to the races, which has angered RCT residents, due to the local lockdown announcement made earlier today.
Health Minister ‘Vaughan Gething’ identified the trip as a ‘significant’ cause for a sharp rise in Covid-19 cases in the area, which has resulted in a local lockdown being announced.
The clubs trip followed the traditional bar stops along the route but club members have said it was perfectly safe and social distancing laws were applied.
” Listen now, our Welsh government are looking for a scapegoat, we followed all the regulations and went with another 2,500 punters from all over Britain, the event was allowed by the English government and we were in England following regulations, they are just making us a scapegoat and trying to set an example of us all,” said a club member on the trip.
The trip last week was to Doncaster races, which was the first racecourse to allow back crowds albeit limited to around 2,500 people although the 3-day event was marred as the English government once again changed laws and the second and third days were forced to go back to crowd -less races that cost organisers in excess of £30,000.
