Just hours after we reported on the crash that involved school children, a second accident has occurred. Where the roof of a double decker bus has been ripped off by trying to navigate a bridge that was too low.
Second bus crash rips roof off the vehicle: The double decker collided with an archway in Frogmore Street, Bristol at 4.30pm on Thursday. The accident has taken the whole roof of the bus off. Similar to the reported incident involving schoolchildren in Winchester the previous day.
Although there were no passengers on the Bristol bus, the driver is said to be shaken up by the incident. A man who witnessed the crash outside his workplace. Paul Stoodley, 47, said. ” I saw it approach the bridge and thought ‘this is not going to go well’, but the driver carried on anyway.”
It just about got under but then it got stuck and whole roof came off”. The bridge will remain closed until such time structural engineers can make sure that it is safe.
