Caerphilly Councillor quits over social distancing photos of him breaking the regulations
Caerphilly councillor from LOCKDOWN town forced to resign: Carl Cuss, who is a Councillor in the only part of Wales to be under lockdown, has resigned from the authority’s cabinet. After photos on social media appeared to show him breaking social distancing rules.
Labour’s Carl Cuss, who represents Twyn Carno in Caerphilly county, apologized for a “lapse of judgement.”
Council leader Philippa Marsden said it was “the right thing to do.”
Mr Cuss, who was cabinet member for social care, posted photos on Facebook of him in close contact with others.
Two posts from August – one of him with a friend in a Cardiff restaurant and another on a boat in the Czech Republic with three friends – have since been deleted.
Anti Coronavirus and face mask wearer Steven Thomas from Bargeoed near Caerphilly though feels he shouldn’t have to quit.
Thomas who leads the Campaigns in Wales against the establishment and has thousands in agreement followers, told Global247news: “Why should he quit over a couple of photos? – he was only doing what we are all doing anyway- I’ve just returned from Portugal myself, do-gooders again, muzzling the people” he said.
” The namby pampy left-wing brigade are at it again and as for Marsden as a leader. She’s a waste of space. I wish she would resign and do us all a favour!” he stormed.
“We need to be standing up for our freedom and civil rights” he finished.
