Following her summer break at Balmoral, the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh will move to Sandringham to spend time privately, Buckingham Palace have said.
The Queen will leave Balmoral: The 94 year old Monarch will leave her Aberdeenshire retreat next week and head for the Sandringham Estate.
A Palace spokesman said that the Queen does intend to return to Windsor Castle next month and will also still be using Buckingham Palace when she has formal engagements.
The couple decided to go ahead with their summer stay at Balmoral amid the corona virus pandemic, and left from their Berkshire estate last month where they had been living with a “reduced” household for the past 4 months.
Insiders called it HMS Bubble. The Balmoral trip was the first time away from Windsor for the Queen and Philip since they relocated there at the start of the virus lockdown in March.
The Palace spokesman went on to say that all the plans were in place for Her Majesty’s movements. However, these could be subject to change at any time. It is unsure at the moment if Philip will remain at Sandringham when the Queen travels to Windsor or whether he will join her.
