Zephaniah McLeod, 27, will appear on Wednesday at the Birmingham Magistrates Court. Charged with murder and 7 counts of attempted murder. Following the stabbings that took place in the city on Sunday night.

Two of the victims remain in a serious condition in hospital. Jacob was stabbed in Irvine Street just before 2am. And had been in the city with school friends while visiting from Liverpool.
Previously, Four other people that were attacked by McLeod were discharged from hospital. The results of a post mortem examination concurred that Jacob had died from a stab wound to the neck.
The 23-year-old victim studied at Sheffield Hallam university and played as a drummer in a band in his spare time. In a statement issued by police on Monday his family said that he was the “light of our life”.
Jim Munro, Detective Chief Inspector, said that since the events unfolded on Sunday night they have had a dedicated team working non-stop on the investigation. Saying that their driving force is to get justice for the victims and their families.
Now, The Crown Prosecution Service have now authorized West Midlands Police to charge McLeod. With one count of murder and 7 counts of attempted murder.
