Caerphilly County has gone into a local lockdown after a rise in coronavirus cases.
Caerphilly County goes into local lockdown: This is the first region in Wales to be put into a local lockdown which starts from 6pm tomorrow after a “rapid” rise in cases.
The Welsh Assembly Government has said that people will not be able to leave or enter the area without good reason. Face masks must be worn by those aged over 11 in shops. People will not be able to meet indoors. Seeing others within extended households will be banned, and no overnight stays will be allowed.
There have been 133 new Covid-19 cases in Caerphilly county in the last week with 55.4 cases per 100,000 population. This is the highest rate in Wales.
