Woman's body found in pond near Kensington Palace

The body of a woman has been pulled out of the Round Pond. Nearby to Kensington Palace police have reported.

Woman’s body found in pond: It was found on Saturday morning and has yet to be identified. The Palace is the home of Prince William and Kate Middleton when they are residing in London with their children.

However, Metropolitan Police did mistake the identity of the body and wrongly informed another family that their relative had passed away. Initially they thought the body was that of artist Endellion Lycett Green. Who is the granddaughter of former poet laureate Sir John Betjeman.

She had been reported missing a week earlier and the force had started an appeal to look for her. Her relatives were extremely relieved when she turned up alive and well later that week.

Her brother, John Lycett Green, issued a statement to family friends saying ” my sister is safe, alive and well. Thank you for all the love and support you have shown her and our family.

Sorry for the grieving process that you went through when we were wrongly informed of her death” A spokesperson for the Met Police said that the woman’s death is being treated as unexplained at the moment but is not thought to be suspicious and that their inquiries are ongoing.
