A Policeman has lost his arm chasing drug dealers on Spain’s Costa del Sol
Costa del Sol News: Spanish Policeman loses arm: The 33-year-old policeman had his patrol car rammed by drug traffickers as he gave pursuit on Spain’s Costa del Sol.
The officer who was in pursuit of the illegal drug traders decided to form a roadblock on the highway to prevent the traffickers passing him but the dealers had other ideas and rammed straight into his car at high speed.
The officer was taken to hospital but his arm had to be amputated due to the severity of the impact and also remains in critical condition.
The drug traffickers car was stolen from Marbella on the Costa del Sol and was rammed full of illegal hashish when it rammed the police car spinning it on to its roof.
The incident took place as officers were on an operation to tackle the latest waves of drug smuggling on Spain’s Costa del Sol.
The assailant who rammed the police car was driving a BMW X5 SUV and was arrested shortly afterwards and is now being held in Spanish police custody.
16 large bales of hashish were taken from the BMW.
The incident comes after several crackdown operations on the Costa del Sol with one only ending last week as drug traders started shooting at police officers.
With a rising drug problem once again on Spain’s Costa del Sol as more international gangs are getting involved in the illicit trade police are determined to stamp it out.
