Storm warnings have been issued for Spain’s Costa Blanca. As region fears more severe flooding
Costa Blanca News: Storm warnings issued: Warnings are being issued to citizens on Spain’s Costa Blanca. As predicted storms are set to hit on Tuesday weather experts have warned.
David Pinkit, a weather forecaster for both Spain’s Costa Blanca and Costa del Sol, told Global247news. ” The storm is brewing and it’s very likely to strike on Tuesday with severe heavy downpours of rain”
” I don’t feel it will as bad as the storms that hit the Costa Blanca in September last year. Although I do expect some flooding especially in the Murcia regions”
” All citizens on the Costa Blanca region need to take precautions and prepare for flooding. Especially those with homes on low levels. The temperatures whilst very warm this weekend are expected to drop to around 20 degrees as the storm strikes”
Local resident Kevin Davies in Alicante Costa Blanca said. “Here we go again, let’s just pray we don’t get hit like last year. This region has suffered too much with many things over the last 12 months. And hopefully, the gods will give us a break!”
September 12th, 2019, saw the largest floods and storms in the region for over 140 years.
The Costa Blanca was devastated with millions of pounds of damage. To which many are still awaiting insurance payments.
Dot Rosier in Murcia explained how she still hasn’t fully recovered. She said: I’ve only had my furniture delivered this week from the UK, it took months for repairs to be completed and the insurance payments have only just come through. My new furniture has now arrived and I really can’t face going through it all again, I had to replace everything, although I know friends who are still waiting for payouts”
