Wales and Scotland introduce Portugal Quarantine

An online poll carried out for the Daily Mail shows that just 24% of people saying the system is working.

Three quarters of Brits have no confidence in quarantine rules: The results come after confusion between England, Scotland and Wales over whether Portugal and Greece should be added to the quarantine list. Welsh and Scottish travelers face a fortnight in quarantine for visiting these places whilst English travelers don’t.

It followed other late decisions on countries such as France that left people hurrying to get home to avoid self-isolating.

Political leaders have clashed over the rules with Grant Shapps admitting that they were confusing.

The Scottish government said its decisions on quarantine measures for travelers were based on the scientific evidence available.

Welsh health minister Vaughan Gething said: “This action is being taken as a result of a large number of cases of coronavirus have been imported into Wales from tourists returning from the Greek islands. In particular in the last week. There have been more than 20 cases confirmed in passengers on one flight from Zante to Cardiff.”
