The former England international, who last managed English football league team Southend United last season, told Robert Pires he would love to have a role back at Arsenal.

During the call Pires said: “I have a question for you Sol because Freddie is leaving.

Without hesitation, Campbell replied: “Yes, I would. If something came up, I would. I would love to.

Pires laughed as he responded: “I will send a message to Edu.”
Pires, Campbell, Parlour and Cole were all part of the 2004 ‘Invincibles’ side which went unbeaten on their way to the Premier League title – which was their last.
Sol Campbell, who grew up in Plaistow, East London before joining Tottenham and then Arsenal, left Southend United at the end of this season after they relegated from League Two.
Freddie Ljungberg left Arsenal recently to pursue a managerial career in Europe.
