Areas of Malaga Province on the Costa del Sol is being bleached daily to prevent the increase of the virus.
The town of Coin, inland from Mijas, is seeing a rampant increase in road cleaning including disinfectant due to a fear of an outbreak.
Coin council announced this week they would be cleaning roads and pavements daily, plus education centres for children.
Parks and playgrounds will also be closed from 10pm to 6am in a bid to keep the area safe and clean and to prevent lack of social distancing measures.
Coin mayor Francisco Santos said: “The situation in our city is worrying, so I appeal to the public to be responsible and prudent in our day to day life.
“We cannot get sloppy,” the mayor said.
“Let’s limit the social contact we make and adhere to wearing masks and social distancing norms.”
“We are very concerned about the current situation,” the mayor finished.
Two teams have been brought in currently to do the tasks with teams working in the morning till siesta and then an evening and night team.
