Alastair Stewart, 68, stepped down from his position as a news reader with ITN in January.
Alastair Stewart left ITN: He has now gone on record as saying that he “regrets his misjudgement” at the time but has now “moved on”.
In an interview with the Sunday Telegraph he said that he does not wish to go back to ITN news as he has moved on.
I have no desire to go back down that road he stated. He went on to say that he made a very clear decision back in January to leave and that he is not going to sit and get upset about it, trying to work out his pension sum.

He added that although his age may go against him, he does have the experience and he hopes that something will turn up for him to get his teeth into.
Alastair James Stewart OBE is an English journalist and newscaster, formerly presenting for ITV News. Stewart joined Southern Television in 1976 then joined ITN in 1980 where he served 3 years with Channel 4 News and then went on to become a main newsreader with ITV News
