Birmingham couple killed in hit-and-run leave five young children behind

The Family of man killed in a shooting say that their lives “will never be the same again”.

The family of a man shot on Bagshaw Road in Stechford on Friday shortly before 8pm have released a statement. They say that they have lost their “protector and friend”.

Murtaza Nazir was killed in the incident and police have now launched a murder investigation. The family are said to be devastated by the news. “Their lives are shattered and their hearts are broken.”

In the statement, the family said that they are trying to heal. In addition they said that everyone that knew him would have a special memory that would help them ease the pain of his loss.

The family are requesting for prayers to be said for him. Also they requested that any videos on social media be removed as they do not want to see any distressing footage of the incident.

Later they thanked the police and ambulance crew and said they hope that justice can be served. West Midlands Police are asking for any witnesses or anyone with information about the shooting to come forward.
