An oil tanker train carrying diesel has derailed and burst into flames in Llangennech, near Llanelli. All those living within half a mile of the crash were evacuated from their homes on Wednesday night, but have since been allowed to return.
Natural Resources Wales are currently assessing the impact of the diesel spill.
The fire was reported just before 11.20pm on Wednesday (August 26) when three carriages of a freight train carrying a large amount of diesel were alight. There were two workers on board the train and no injuries have been reported, British Transport Police (BTP) said. Flames from the fire could be seen from miles around.
Those who were evacuated were sent to a nearby community centre and were allowed back into their homes at 5.30am.
