Trains in South Wales Come To A Standstill In The Valleys As Storm Francis Strikes

Train services in the South Wales Valleys have been halted due to flooded rail tracks as Storm Francis strikes

Storm Francis as it strikes South Wales is causing havoc for the rail services operating in Wales, with many tracks flooded out and seeing services suspended.

All commuters and users, especially on the valley lines, are advised to check train times and schedules before departing to a station.

Flooding has blocked the line between Fernhill and Aberdare. As a result, train services are currently suspended between these stations.

The situation is expected to worsen throughout the day with further expected heavy downpours as storm conditions continue.

Those planning to travel in Wales are being advised to stay at home unless it’s totally necessary to travel.

Coaches and buses are currently being laid on to transport stranded passengers to their destinations.
