The woman was killed as she rode on the junction between Avenidas Villajoyosa and Murtal.
The incident happened on Monday morning just after 8 40am.
The woman was a 29 year old Spanish citizen and was on the designated bikeway when a bus veered into her.
It is unclear if the bus drove onto the bikeway or if it turned into a road and didn’t see the woman.
Paramedics couldn’t revive her after the blunt trauma and died at the scene.
This was confirmed by Benidorm police.
Scooter and bicycle deaths are a serious problem around the south coast of Spain with a cyclist being killed by a hit and run driver on the Ap-7 near Estepona in July and a 66 year old cyclist was killed in Torrevieja by a car in 2014.
And last year a scooter rider was killed in Alicante after the 61 year old collided with a car.
He wasn’t wearing a helmet and had no lights on.
