Spain's Costa Del Sol hospitals call for blood donors as they resume postponed operations after lockdown

A three day blood donation on August 26, 27 and 28th will take place in the Brotherhood of the Redemption Building in Arroyo de la Miel, Benalmadena.

The aim is to support hospitals as there are more people on the coast, and hospitals are now doing surgeries that were postponed due to the coronavirus lockdown.

The Councillor or Health, Juan Carrillo said: “The Transfusion Centre must maintain the reserves at a good level so that there is no shortage of blood in our hospitals and for that the help of all citizens is essential”

Due to coronavirus, social distancing will be enforced so the building is safe for donors to attend, alongside extreme hygiene measures.

People should not donate blood if they have suffered coronavirus symptoms in the past 14 days, or been travelling.
