Teenage daughter kills mother and hides her body in bath for four months during lockdown in Spain's Costa Blanca

A 19 year old woman and her 18 year old boyfriend have been arrested near Gandia on the Costa Blanca for the murder of the woman’s mother.

The incident took place in l’Alcudia de Crespins, Valencia in April during the lockdown and state of alarm.

The mother, who was a Bulgarian national, was found with her remains ‘mummified’ in the bathtub of the flat situated 50km inland from the popular resort of Gandia.

Shockingly, the daughter continued living her day to day life whilst her mother – who had lived in Spain for over 20 years – lay dead in the bathroom.

Neighbours complained about the smell to the local council after the stench poured through the apartment building they lived in but no thought came to mind that it was the rotting body of the deceased Bulgarian woman.

The incident only came to light after the girl confessed to a friend about what she had done.

The friend then rang the police where they found the horrific scene yesterday on August 20th.

Even the coroner could not identify the woman on sight and teeth and fingerprints tests had to be conducted to confirm the identity.

No timescale has been released but the Valencian authorities believe the woman was killed in April, some four months ago.

The teenage girl and her 18 year old partner are being held on suspicion of murder and investigated.

Story continues.
