Police are on the hunt for the mother of a new born baby found dead and wrapped in a beach towel in Bradford.
West Yorkshire police said in a statement that the emergency services were called to Bowling Back Lane in Bradford on Thursday after the body was found by a passer by in the towel, which depicted the holiday destination of Fuerteventura.
Sara Hollins, head of Bradford midwifery, said in the statement issued through the police that “Our main priority is to find the mum of the baby as we are concerned for her well being and want to ensure she gets the appropriate medical care and support.”
She pleaded with the baby’s mother, or anyone who might know her, to contact the police. She finished off by saying that she is most likely to be from the local area and someone must know of her whereabouts. Anyone with information is urged to contact the police via phone or text.
