Hotel Trinimar Blaze in Benicassim in Spain's Valencian Community

Thick clouds of black smoke poured from the Trinimar hotel yesterday. The local fire brigade said fortunately there were no casualties.

The area was packed with tourists after the recent lifting of lockdown restrictions. The fire is believed to have started in the restaurant area according to the local firemen.

On Twitter the official statement was “Fire in a Hotel in #Benicassim. It has affected an outdoor parking area and the upper floor where a hotel restaurant is located. 260 people evicted. Controlled fire, #FomberosCPBC continue working.

Local reports confirmed that the fire led to the evacuation of 260 people. Eyewitness footage of the incident shows massive clouds of black smoke billowing from the burning building’s lower floors.

The dense smoke filled the area surrounding the hotel.
