Soldiers charged in child prostitution sting

Three soldiers and six civilians were all arrested after police posed as 15 year olds online.

Three soldiers who arrived at a location Saturday with the impression that they were meeting underage girls to pay them for sex were instead arrested and charged with prostitution during a two-day sting operation by police in Killeen, Texas.

The soldiers thought they were meeting the girls and had promised them cash and drugs in return for sexual favours.

The two-day sting was a joint operation of Killeen Police Department Special Victim’s Unit and the Texas Department of Public Safety Human Trafficking Program.

Two soldiers, Spc. Anthony Xavier Antwon, 25, and Pfc. Timmy Jones Jr., 30, were both charged with a felony of prostitution under the age of 18. This felony carries a sentence of life imprisonment in Texas.

Staff Sgt. Pierre Jean, 32, received a Class A misdemeanor charge for prostitution which carries a much lighter sentence of 1 year imprisonment and a $4,000 fine.

The other 6 men were identified as Brian Harley Flynn, 21, of Temple, Brandon Anthony Lee, 25, of Killeen, Rakeem Jamal Nelson, 28, of Killeen, Shaun Paul Moore, 39, of Kempner and Javier Perez, 40, of Austin.

Five of these were also charged with felony prostitution charges that carry life sentences and one was charged with Class A misdemeanor the same as Staff Sgt. Pierre Jean.

‘The overall goal … was to locate and arrest subjects who were willing to make overt efforts to pay minors to engage in sexual acts,’ the Killeen Police Department said in a statement.
