Early mail-in voting sees Trump demand early face off with Biden

The President called for his Presidential debate with Democrat candidate Joe Biden to be brought forward as voters allowed to do a mail-in vote earlier than expected.

‘Move the First Debate up,’ he demanded in a Tweet this Thursday morning.

‘A debate, to me, is a Public Service. Joe Biden and I owe it to the American People!’

‘How can voters be sending in Ballots starting, in some cases, one month before the First Presidential Debate.’

The first of three debates are scheduled for September 29th in Cleveland, Ohio.

However, Trump wants the first of these brought forward to ensure he and Biden face off before people start casting ballots in states that allow early voting.

The states that allow early ‘mail-in’ votes where people do not have to go outside to a voting booth include Alaska, California and Florida.

Rudy Giuiliani, who is the president’s personal attorney and represents his reelection campaign, sent a letter to the Commission on Presidential Debates on Wednesday requesting a fourth debate be held at the beginning of the month.

‘Simply put, the Commission’s current approach is an outdated dinosaur and not reflective of voting realities in 2020,’ Giuliani said in the letter.

The first of the mail in votes will be held in September and Trump wants the debates scheduled for the start of September so that he can persuade people to vote for him and the Republicans.

‘For a nation already deprived of a traditional campaign schedule because of the COVID-19 global pandemic, it makes no sense to also deprive so many Americans of the opportunity to see and hear the two competing visions for our country’s future before millions of votes have been cast,’ Giuliani continued in the letter.
