Details have been released of the vehicle which went missing last week having bodies inside.
The landing craft was found 385 feet under the Pacific Ocean after an extensive search after the vehicle and 7 marines and a sailor went missing on a training excercise last week.
The Marines and the corpsman had been presumed dead after they had been missing for more than 40 hours.
The Navy Undersea Rescue Command confirmed the remains through the use of an underwater remote-controlled video system.
The vehicle which is known as an Amtrac is used to take marines and attached Navy crew from ship to land and can drive up onto the shore.
Witnesses in other Amtracs on the same excercise say it got into difficulty after taking in water after being released by their ship off the coast of San Clemente Island.
8 other Marines were rescued in the initial difficult but one died in hospital near the base in Camp Pendleton, California.
