A man who disappeared 5 years ago and was on the missing person’s list has been found alive and well in woods near Wisbech.
Police had launched a murder investigation soon after his disappearance in 2015. The Lithuanian gentleman, Ricardas Puisys, who was 35 at the time of his disappearance, had not been seen for several weeks which lead the Police to start appealing for witnesses as to his whereabouts.
He had last been seen at work in September 2015 and it was believed he had been in the company of a small group of Lithuanians who had been exploiting him. Potential sighting of him in Wisbech and Kings Lynn, Norfolk had been noted by the police force in charge of the murder investigation.
Last year the head of the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crimes Unit, DCI Adam Gallop, had said that his disappearance was a “complete mystery” and that one man had been arrested on suspicion of murder but no charges were brought.
Then a breakthrough in June this year led investigators to search woodland in Wisbech were Mr Puisys was found living in undergrowth and having not spoken to anyone for some time. It was obvious to the Police that he was hiding himself away. They stated that they had not, until now, released the fact they had found him to make sure he was safe and put measures in place to ensure his safety. An investigation in to Mr Puisys exploitation has been started.
