Fulham defeated West London rivals Brentford in a dour encounter at Wembley. The game went to extra time as both teams struggled to play the free flowing football that got them to the play off final.
There were few chances in the 90 minutes with Fulham’s Harrison Reed lucky not to be sent off for a studs up lunge in the first half.
The game came to life in extra time with Fulham left back the unlikely hero with 2 goals in either half. The first being a clever free kick that caught out Brentford keeper Raya. The second was a fine finish on a counter attack move that left the Bees broken hearted. To their credit Brentford battled on and scored an injury time consolation goal from Dalsgaard.
Fulham return to the Premier League after an absence of a year.
