Emergency services and police have been called to scenes in Heathfield in east Sussex, after an aircraft came down and exploded on impact.
Firefighters have been extinguishing the blaze in a country lane where the plane impacted in Heathfield, inbetween Royal Tunbridge Wells and Eastbourne.
The aircraft is reported to have come down just after 11am this morning.
Information on any injuries is not yet available, East Sussex Fire and Rescue Services said.
A spokesperson for Sussex Police said: “Emergency services are responding to a light plane that has crashed at Herring Lane, north of Heathfield.
“The aircraft was reported to have come down on open ground at 11.01am on Tuesday August 4.
“There are no further details at present.”
