KFC's Black Power Deep Fried Chicken advert receives criticism for racism

Trinidads KFC Chain posted the image on social media to celebrate the Caribbean nation’s Emancipation Day which commemorates the end of slavery in the colonies of the British Empire.

While many considered the image to graphically racist as it depicts the “Black Power” fist as a silhouette to a Chicken Drumstick, others thought Trinidadian humor would see the lighter side of it and not take offense.

The mixed responses included

“This is the most racist thing I’ve seen a corporation do ever, how tone deaf are they?”
Others said the graphic was “distasteful” and “stupid.”

KFC have apologized for the post.
