A pet cat has become the first animal to test positive for coronavirus in the UK after catching the disease from its owners.
Health officials are confident that the cat caught the disease from its owners and ‘not the other way around.’
Information on the breed of cat or the owner’s names has not been released at this time.
But they revealed both the cat and its owners have since made a full recovery — and there was no transmission to other animals or people within the household.
The cat was not the first animal to test positive for covid-19. A dog in Hong Kong caught the disease from its owner and was placed into a government facility, before recovering and returning home.
