An explosion at a petrol station in Cartagena Spain has taken place resulting in at least 4 serious injuries as they were blown into the sky.
Underground fuel tanks were ignited by workmen resulting in a massive explosion that blew up the petrol station at 11.45 AM.
Eyewitnesses at the scene have reported on social media that they saw at least 4 people blown up into the air.
Emergency services in Murcia’s control centre received numerous calls as the explosion took place and are currently battling the inferno with foam fire repellents used for chemical fires.
Ambulance services are ferrying the injured to hospital with many having severe burns to the body.
According to the eyewitness statements on twitter, some people are unrecognizably burnt from head to toe as the ambulance services stretcher them away from the incident.
Families are currently being informed of relatives being taken to nearby hospitals.
