Airbus in Toulouse suffering badly with worldwide epidemic
Just outside Toulouse, you are greeted with a giant sign stating “capital of the aerospace industry.”
Airbus’s head office is here in Toulouse, supplying nearly 50% of the worlds commercial aircraft. With 26,000 employees and a further 60,000 ancillary related companies in the supply chain, downturn in sales will have a massive effect on the area.
The coronavirus pandemic that has spread throughout the world and restricted air travel is going to have a huge economic effect on this industry. Fears of mass unemployment prevail.
